Terms of Service

Effective Date: 14-07-2026

Last Updated: 12-08-2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of M.E.I. Safe websites, digital profiles, applications, dashboards, QR/NFC-enabled products and associated services (“Services”).

1. M.E.I. Safe Services

M.E.I. Safe provides technology intended to allow users to store, manage and make selected identification, emergency-contact and health-related information accessible through mechanisms such as QR codes and NFC-enabled identifiers.

M.E.I. Safe complements existing emergency and healthcare systems. It does not replace medical records, emergency services, professional healthcare or clinical judgment.

2. Eligibility

You must have the legal capacity required under applicable law to enter into these Terms.

Where an account is created or managed for a child or another person who cannot legally provide the required authorization, the parent, guardian or other authorized representative must have appropriate legal authority.

Additional consent or age-verification requirements may apply depending on the user’s country.

3. Account Registration

You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account information current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity occurring through your account, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

You must notify M.E.I. Safe promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Health and Emergency Information

You decide what eligible information to enter into your profile and, subject to available controls, what information is accessible through an emergency view.

You are responsible for reviewing and updating this information.

M.E.I. Safe does not guarantee that user-provided medical or personal information is clinically accurate.

5. Emergency Access

Certain M.E.I. Safe profiles may be designed so that selected information can be viewed when a QR code is scanned or an NFC-enabled identifier is tapped.

You understand that information intentionally included in an emergency-access portion of a profile may be accessible without the same authentication requirements that apply to private account information.

You should not place information in an emergency-access view that you do not want potentially accessible to persons who encounter and scan your identifier.

6. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • use M.E.I. Safe unlawfully;
  • access another person’s private account without authorization;
  • impersonate another person;
  • knowingly submit false or fraudulent information;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the Services;
  • attempt to bypass authentication or access controls;
  • introduce malware or malicious code;
  • scrape or systematically extract information without permission;
  • use information obtained through M.E.I. Safe for unlawful discrimination, harassment or exploitation; or
  • use the Services in a manner that infringes another person’s rights.

7. Physical Products

Physical products may include bracelets, cards, tags, keychains or other QR/NFC-enabled items.

Product appearance and functionality may change as M.E.I. Safe improves its products.

QR codes and NFC components may become damaged or unreadable through wear, physical damage, misuse or environmental conditions.

Users should periodically test their products and replace damaged items when necessary.

8. Payments and Subscriptions

Where paid Services are offered, prices, billing periods, taxes and recurring-payment terms will be disclosed before purchase.

If a subscription automatically renews, this will be disclosed before checkout.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, cancellation of a subscription prevents future renewal but does not automatically result in a refund for a period already paid for.

Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

9. Cancellation

You may cancel an eligible recurring subscription using the account controls provided by M.E.I. Safe or by contacting support@meisafe.com.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless applicable law, checkout terms or a specific offer provides otherwise.

10. Intellectual Property

The M.E.I. Safe name, logos, software, interface, databases, documentation, designs and other proprietary materials are owned by or licensed to M.E.I. Safe and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

M.E.I. Safe grants users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for their intended personal or authorized organizational purpose.

11. User Content

You retain ownership of personal information and other content that you submit.

You grant M.E.I. Safe the limited rights necessary to host, process, transmit, secure and display that information solely for operating the Services and for other lawful purposes described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Privacy

Personal data is processed in accordance with the M.E.I. Safe Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

Health information may qualify as sensitive or special-category personal data and receives additional protections.

13. Service Availability

M.E.I. Safe aims to maintain reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Maintenance, connectivity problems, infrastructure failures, cybersecurity events and third-party systems may affect access.

14. No Medical Advice

M.E.I. Safe is an information-access and emergency-identification platform.

It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, medical advice or emergency-response services.

The Medical Disclaimer forms part of these Terms.

15. Third-Party Services

The Services may contain integrations, links or functionality supplied by third parties.

Those services may have separate terms and privacy policies. M.E.I. Safe is not responsible for independent third-party services except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

16. Suspension and Termination

M.E.I. Safe may suspend or restrict an account where reasonably necessary to address serious violations of these Terms, fraud, security threats, unlawful activity, risks to another person or legal and regulatory obligations.

Users may close their accounts subject to applicable legal retention requirements.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including mandatory consumer protections.

Subject to that restriction, M.E.I. Safe is not liable for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or that result from misuse of the Services, inaccurate user-provided information, failure to update information or circumstances outside M.E.I. Safe’s reasonable control.

18. Changes to These Terms

M.E.I. Safe may update these Terms when its Services, laws or business practices change.

Where a change materially affects users’ rights, M.E.I. Safe will provide appropriate notice as required by law.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under laws applicable to them.

Nothing in these Terms prevents an EU consumer from exercising mandatory rights or seeking remedies available under applicable consumer law.
