5. Emergency Profile Visibility

M.E.I. Safe is designed to allow users to make selected emergency information accessible when their identifier is scanned or tapped.

Information designated by you for an emergency-access view may therefore be accessible to someone who scans or taps your M.E.I. Safe identifier.

Users should carefully choose what information they make available through this view.

Private account information that is not designated for emergency access will remain subject to applicable access controls.

6. Sharing Personal Information

M.E.I. Safe may disclose personal data where necessary to appropriate recipients, including hosting providers, authentication services, payment processors, shipping partners, security systems, professional advisers, and legal authorities.

M.E.I. Safe may operate using service providers or personnel located in more than one country.

Where personal data protected by GDPR is transferred outside the European Economic Area, M.E.I. Safe will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism where required, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

8. Data Retention

M.E.I. Safe keeps personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and for applicable legal, security, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.

Specific retention periods will depend on the category of information, purpose of processing and applicable legal requirements.

Where personal data is no longer required, it will be deleted, anonymized or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable law.

9. Security

M.E.I. Safe uses technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. These may include encryption, access controls, authentication, logging, backups, and secure development practices.

No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights

Where GDPR applies, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and consent withdrawal.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.

Requests may be sent to support@meisafe.com. M.E.I. Safe may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

11. Complaints

You have the right, where applicable, to lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection supervisory authority.

For France, the relevant authority is the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), subject to applicable GDPR rules.

M.E.I. Safe recognizes that children’s health information requires particular protection.

Where Services are made available to minors, M.E.I. Safe will apply age, parental-authorization and consent requirements required by applicable law.
